Get to know Capital FM’s newest talent, Davina Leonard

After high school and completing a “real degree”, Davina managed to finally convince her parents to let her go to drama school in Scotland. She took a one woman show to the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival and tried to get acting jobs in London for a few years (she spent most of her time standing in the rain in inappropriate clothing, handing out flyers). She missed her family and home too much and came back to the sunshine of Nairobi, and gave herself her own roles, acting and producing one woman shows around Nairobi and teaching acting at the Kenya National Theatre.
Like everyone, she has been hustling in and around until she caught Capital FM’s eyes and ears last year when Davina was interviewed about her short film, ‘Poacher’, now streaming on Netflix. She managed to keep Soulo entertained so we gave her an internship.
She spent two whole weeks buying a lot of coffee for Fareed on the Breakfast Show as “Intern”. On the show, she managed to annoy Fareed so much that we have decided to keep her around some more!
Davina is a trained actor, freelance producer and lover of all things caffeine-based or unicorn themed. Her ideas are as wacky as her clothes and we can’t wait to see how she will frustrate Fareed in the months to come!
Catch her on Capital In The Morning with Fareed Khimani from Monday to Friday 6AM to 10AM.
