Easy Skillet Cornbread

This cowboy Western-style Easy Skillet Cornbread is the perfect side for every soup, stew, and chili this winter. It takes mere minutes to whip up this sweet cornbread and everyone always loves it!

✅Ingredients

• ½ cup butter, melted
• ⅔ cup sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup buttermilk
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 1 cup flour
• ½ teaspoon salt

✅Instructions

1️⃣ Place skillet or baking dish in oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

2️⃣ In a medium-sized bowl combine the melted butter with the sugar. Beat in the eggs until well blended.

3️⃣ Add in the baking soda and then slowly pour in the buttermilk while you stir.

4️⃣ Add in the cornmeal, flour, and salt and stir until well combined.
5️⃣ Carefully remove hot skillet from oven and pour batter into the preheated cast iron skillet.

6️⃣ Bake in the 375 degree oven for about 20 minutes, until the top starts to brown.
